This is an informal way to meet professionals and ask them various questions about the planning profession. We are very lucky this year to have a number of planning consultants donating their time to the conference. Consultants often have experience in many different areas, so they should be able to give you lots of advice.
The room will be set up with round tables (one professional for each table). Pick a professional to sit with (up to 4 students can sit with a professional at one time).
Once seated, you have 15 minutes to ask the professional any question you like.
Once the fifteen minutes is up, move to another table and repeat the process, or join a student presentation in the next room.
Questions the professionals will be prepared to answer:
1) What are employers looking for?
2) What is the day in the life of a planner?
3) "They never told me this in school...."
