Events & Education>2009 Board Survey

Member Input Needed

As Board members of the Michigan Association of Planning, we are dedicated to the mission that:

"Communities will have the tools, knowledge, and legislative, regulatory, and policy environment to make land use and planning decisions based on sound planning principles."

The Board, through outreach and training, has dedicated significant time to better understand the issues that face the communities of our state.  During the summer and fall of 2007 the board conducted a number of phone surveys with planning professionals and officials within every geographic area of the State.  The survey questions were designed to encourage dialog between the Board and MAP membership.  The results of these "conversations" compiled in 2008 into a report that provides much information and a better understanding of the issues that face our members and communities.  As a follow-up to this effort the Map Board has developed this online survey to capture further information in order to measure the value of what we've done and to provide direction for what we will do to fulfill our responsibilities to our membership and our communities in our policies, advocacy work and educational programs.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete this survey.

The MAP Board has established the following goal statement to guide our activities. Communities will have the tools, knowledge, and legislative, regulatory, and policy environment to make quality planning decisions based on sound planning principles. How well is MAP meeting this goal?
