Domicology: Opportunities, Markets, and Innovations
Friday, May 17, 2019, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM EDT
Category: Other Events

Economic decline, disinvestment, natural disasters, and the effect of online purchasing on store closures have left communities with unprecedented amounts of structural debris, abandonment, and blight. How could a new paradigm called ‘Domicology’ turn this around?

The Michigan State University Center for Community and Economic Development will be hosting an event to highlight advancements in the realm of Domicological research, policy, and practice. We will be discussing progress in the theory and practice of reducing structural abandonment while increasing material salvage.

Dr. Rex LaMore, the director of the MSU Center for Community Economic Development, and a member of the faculty of the Urban & Regional Planning Program, will be speaking.
