Communities across Michigan are increasingly being asked to evaluate utility-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects. Questions about farmland, environmental impacts, safety, decommissioning, and local control continue to emerge as renewable energy development expands.
Michigan State University Extension's Renewable Energy Fundamentals workshops provide research-based information to help local officials and residents better understand these topics. Through presentations, discussion, and networking, participants will gain a deeper understanding of renewable energy regulation, siting, and development and leave with resources to support informed community conversations.
