Ethic Cases of the Year

Virtual

Learn firsthand how the AICP Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct emphasizes commitments to equity and inclusion, protecting the public interest, and supporting AICP planners subject to frivolous complaints. Understand how the Code sets certified planners apart by focusing on integrity, the appearance of fairness, and commitment to supporting fair and just communities.

Scenarios include real-life topics that came before the Ethics Officer and Ethics Committee in 2025 including harassment and bullying, elected officials changing during plan development, and promoting DEI policies and procedures. Find out how to readily access the Code of Ethics, download a copy of the Ethics Pledge for display in your place of work, and use the Code as a guide to ethical behavior in your planning practice. This presentation demonstrates how the AICP Code of Ethics is designed to support all certified planners in challenging situations as long as their behavior is consistent with the code.
